syselog was founded in 1987
by a team of engineers from IT and training
departments at ALCATEL.
The merger of these different skill sets
allows syselog to enter the Technical
Documentation market with an original approach,
based on mastering of new documents formats.
Extensive expertise in telecommunications systems enables syselog
to undertake large outsourcing contracts in Technical
Publications used in Telecommunications sectors.
Anticipating new market trends, syselog quickly
adopts a dual positioning in Documentation
and Data processing sectors, acquiring at the same time control of Document Production services and Document Systems design.
Electronic Documentation (CD-ROM,
Web, On-line help) becomes one of the principal
pillars of syselog's strategy. The overall Group adopts and reorganized
around this central strategic concept.
In 1993, syselog
further strengthens its positioning in France by acquiring the DP - Professional Documentation Company,
this consolidates syselog's presence
in the French Railway sector (ALSTOM, the RATP,
the SNCF…).
Back to back, in 1997
and 1998, syselog is entrusted with two large outsourcing contracts for the
Technical Publications departments and the Engineering
and Design department of ALCATEL MEDICAL BUSINESS
SYSTEMS EUROPE and GENERAL ELECTRIC SYSTEMS
EUROPE. syselog seizes these two opportunities
and invests in core technologies to establish
an XML document workbench based on the CMS DOCUMENTUM product.
At the beginning of 2000,
to address the crisis of the telecommunications
sector, syselog further optimizes and automates document production processes and gracefully exits the business desktop publishing market to focus on technical content creation and Document Systems Design.
In 2004, syselog
acquires one of its competitors eurodoc, subsidiary
of the AREVA Group (see
also the history of eurodoc ) and stratgically strenghtened
its market position in three sectors: Energy, Defence and
Aeronautics.
The group HORUS FINANCE merges in 2005 these two subsidiaries, syselog (100 people) and eurodoc (450 people), to form the second largest European Document Engineering company.
In October 2005, after the eurodoc and syselog merger,
the Horus Finance documentation business unit is further reorganized along customer service solution:
In 2005,
the new merged group grows internationally
with the creation of syselog Canada in Montreal,
in April, and syselog India in New Delhi,
in November.
In March 2007, syselog merges with euroscript to create a new service provider powerhouse, offering comprehensive solutions in content lifecycle management. The new company operates using the name euroscript International S.A. At the operational level, the established trademarks (syselog, euroscript, …) continue to be used.
The merger creates an international company with global reach, with annual revenues of 85 M EUR, approximately 1,280 employees, with operations in 12 countries, distributed over three continents. The company is now strategically positioned to address the fast growing enterprise content management market and to respond to the needs of customers in areas such as the public sector, manufacturing, financial services and utilities.
